Description: Otter is a big, lovable, eleven-something, lab-pitt mix who is very lively and silly. When he gets excited he wags his tail so hard, his whole body sways.
Otter was turned into the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society because his human got a younger, cuter puppy. The reason for surrender listed on Otter's intake sheet is "too old". Imagine being a faithful companion your entire life, only to be kicked out of your home and tossed into doggie jail - looking at a death sentence - just because you are too old! Un-be-LIEV-able!
Otter loves bits of hot dog and will do almost anything to obtain some. He knows sit, stay, down, kennel up and wait, so far. He is eager to please and just wants to be loved. He will chase a ball, but not bring it back. He walks well on a lead and enjoys short walks. He does well on stairs. He immediately stops whatever he is doing when told, "NO!" and quickly returns to his human's side, looking up patiently for further instructions....it is so cute!
Otter likes kitties a little too much, so a cat-free home is recommended.
Otter's graying muzzle is just waiting for your kisses. He certainly deserves to have a secure, loving home in which to live out his golden years. If you are looking for an extra-lovable guy, and are willing to commit to Otter for the rest of his life - no matter how many cuter dogs come into yours - please fill out an online application and a Homeward Bound volunteer will contact you shortly.
Only those with APPROVED applications will be invited to see Otter.
